“αιέν αριστεύειν και υπείροχον έμμεναι άλλων, μηδέ γένος πατέρων αισχυνέμεν” (Ιλιάδα,Ζ,208).

“always excel, surpass others, honor the paternal lineage you belong to”

STAGE

Ancient Greece, Theater, Philosophical “Meetings”

The ancient Greek civilization had as a model of life the striving for Excellence, and as a goal of philosophy, at the level of human life, the conquest of virtue, a concept which it equated with excellence.

Plan A

The desire of learning, of the higher, of the excellent, of evolution and completion, in a symbolic spiraling of the phrase, heavenward.

Freehand writing, one-piece typography, metal construction, laser cut, self-supporting, no base.

Form that plays with the shadow, with the light, with the direction of the sky.

Color white.

Plan B

The writing that turns into a “seat”.

I exist, in excellence, the message.

. . . there . . . I read a book, observe the surroundings, rest, think, kiss, feel.

Τα πάντα ρει _Everything flows

“everything flows and nothing stays the same”

STAGE

Flow, Cycle, Contrast, Composition

The constant movement and change is the fundamental characteristic of the reality of “everything”, which Heraclitus expressed through the simplistically comprehensive phrase ” everything flows and nothing stays the same “.

Everything flows, everything is in constant motion

Plan Α1

The flow in perpetual motion.

Circular cross-section metal rods, with one fixing point and mounting on a mirror. The mirror multiplies the phrase and the out-of-control movement of the “flow of the phrase”, depending on the environment, the light, and even the shadows of the people.

 Plan Α2

The flow in perpetual motion.

Lake with artificial water fountain. Metal construction made of slats, with a water flow channel, a fixing point and placement in an artificial or natural lake.

Color white.

Plan Β

The writing is steady and yet in a solar flux.

Typography composition with a circular flow of shadow that actively participates in the work and its meaning.

and “underlined” the analysis of this power from the verse through Sophocles’ Antigone.

Aristotelian term related to the natural process of creation and evolution of beings.

Diptych, like Aristotle’s analysis of the word entelechy.

A closed flower, a bud. And a flower blooming.

The potential and the active. . .

The letters of the word “Εντελέχεια” in parametric transformations create images of potential evolution . . .

In addition, an application of augmented reality, where the “bud blooms” and the “blooming flower closes its petals”. . . in a visual representation of the eternal transformation of everything. . .

HIPPOCRATES 460 BC

The Father of Medicine

Hippocrates was the founder of medical science, systematizing the knowledge of previous centuries and paving the way for the transition from empirical and priestly to rational Medicine.

Hippocrates formulates a code of ethics for physicians, uniquely expressed in his famous Oath.

Piety, selflessness, purity, consistency, respect for the patient, justice and responsibility are presented as the most important obligations and virtues for practicing the medical profession.

Hippocratic Oath, metal construction, laser cut.

Application as the outer skin of a building, in a vertical arrangement or on an incline.

The outer perforated surface acts as a second shell, which protects the interior of the building from the sun, creates an interesting play of light and consciously and subconsciously transmits a timeless medical social message.

Reminder of commitment to principles, to values, to self. . .

Γνώθι σαυτόν (διαδραστικό) _Know Thyself (participatory installation)

The self-awareness imprinted in the collective consciousness, dominant in a philosophical context, in archaic and newer European thought, in the newer science of psychology, is presented with extraordinary interest in the course of our lives.

The installation invites us to analyze and deepen, following Socrates exhortation towards the path of self-knowledge.

Interactive installation.

Passage . . . a route through words, concepts, emotions, “white” and “black”, joys and sorrows, many selves and one. . . Searching.

The rods are made of liquid glass/transparent plexiglass. Inside them the words. Among them the seeker. Everything in motion. . .

They make a sound. Like an ancient cymbal. They invite you. Wake up. . . Know yourself . . .

Color white and transparent.

The story of the first Immortals. . . it all begins with Chaos, the father of Gaia and Eros. Gaia gave birth to Uranus, the Sea and the Mountains. . . and then . . ..

Νίκη _Nike

victory, strength, flight, struggle, merit, freedom, bravery, virtue

STAGE

Sky, Earth & Sea 

Nike in Greek mythology is the goddess who spreads her wings in triumph, and symbolizes the victory of battles, and the victories of “peace”.

Plan Α

One of “her” symbols.

The wings. To fly.

As if victory gives wings. The wings of satisfaction, fulfillment, desired outcome . . .

and flies with the breath of heaven . . . with the blowing of the wind.

It lands gently through the various layers of “drops” of existence. . .

The word is there, in motion. “nike”. . . a spinning wheel . . .
